The research sample consisted of 39 psychology students (AMage= 25.3; SDage= 2.5; 8% men) who completed their psychology practicum during their undergraduate studies in the academic years 2021/22 and 2022/23. Of the 39 respondents to our research, 31 students completed a traditional practicum, 9 students completed an online counselling placement (SenSkype project), and 5 students completed a servicelearning practicum (some of whom completed all three forms of practicum during their undergraduate studies). Competency development was assessed by respondents using the Communication and interaction effect style questionnaire by Mlcak [1] and key competencies via the online tool V- skills for employability [2]. Statistical analysis of the perceived level of competencies acquired through classical full-time practice and alternative forms of practice by psychology students showed no statistically significant differences in the perceived level of competencies between students who had completed classical full-time practice and students who had completed alternative forms of practice. Thus, we can conclude that the two alternative forms of practice presented by us are equivalent alternatives to the previously established full-time psychology students' practice and develop students' competences and the classical practice. In conclusion, we can thus state that we recommend the alternative forms of practice presented by us to be used as proper alternatives together with the classical full-time practice of psychology students.
