Th e name of the main hero of the spring ritual – type Heľuška, Helička – , which is probably motivated by onomatopoeia, is explained as a phonetic and semantic adaptation of the Greek liturgical term eleison or church Slavonic allilúia. Th e study pays attention to other variants of this ritual name as well. It also draws attention to the presence of archaic confi gurations of elements in the texts under research, which are typical in connecting female and water elements. Th ey probably refer to the common Indo-European mythological and ritual heritage, particularly to the spring celebration of some triple Goddesses-rivers (Vedic Saraswati, Persian Anahita, Armenian Anahit) URL http://sms.zrc-sazu.si/pdf/15/SMS-2012-08_golema.pdf Public work category ADE No. of Archival Copy 24014 Repercussion category BOCÁNOVÁ, Martina.
