Pp. 5276-5282. - Valencia : International association of technology, education and development (IATED), 2023 ; International Conference on Education and New Learning Technologies medzinárodná konferencia Kľúč.slová emocionálna inteligencia - emočná inteligencia - emotional intelligence črtová emocionálna inteligencia - trait emotional intelligence líderstvo v edukácii - leadership in education Form.deskr. príspevky v zborníku - proceedings papers Jazyk dok. angličtina Krajina Španielsko Anotácia The study theoretically and empirically analyzes trait emotional intelligence (EI) potential in the context of transformational leadership by self-report tools: a global level of trait EI and its four factors (well-being, self-control, emotionality, sociability) by TEIQue-SF (Petrides, 2009, adapted to the Slovak conditions by Kaliská, Heinzová & Nábělková, 2019) and five leadership practices (Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act, Encourage the Heart) by Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI, Kouzes & Posner, 2017, adapted by Kaliská & Heinzová, 2022) of the Slovak future teachers as potential educational transformative leaders in Slovakia (N=121, Mage=41-4, /SD=11.4/; 84% of females). Statistically significant positive moderate to strong relations between global level of trait EI and sociability factor and five leadership practices were proved (.29≤r≤.49). There were high significant differences between the leaders with high and low EI level in all five leadership practices in favor to the ones with a high trait EI level. The study emphasizes the importance of emotionally intelligent and competent behavior of a leader who is trying to transform our educational systems for the purpose of addressing and reaching common school aims. It can be explained also as a didactic method invented by Lipman (1970s) based on building the community of inquire via critical, creative and caring thinking development (3-C thinking). The P4C has significant positive impact upon teachers and students´ creativity, builds the confidence of them and encourages and develops their capacity for independent and critical thinking and powers of reasoning. The study analyses the gender differences in classroom climate perception of two Slovak grammar high schools by a self-report measure, Classroom Climate Perception (CCP, Mellibruda adapted to the Slovak conditions by Zelina, 2006). The CCP assesses four factors: sincerity, understanding, value appreciation and acceptance belonging among the most important factors for effective communication and community of inquiry support to open and begin the process of philosophizing with children at schools nowadays. The classroom climate perception was assessed of freshmen students, i.e. 1st year students of two high schools in the Central region of Slovakia (N=181, Mage=15.1, /SD=.5/; 62% of girls) after two months of being a part of a new school community. The only statistically significant difference was estimated in sincerity in favour to boys. The study emphasizes the importance of socio-emotional well-being of the students for the process of critical thinking development via Philosophy for children method implementation. Data were randomly collected from 82 sample households with the help of an interview schedule. Ginicoefficient, Palma ratio was used to measure income inequality in the selected area while Lorenz curve was used to represent income and inequality. A logistic regression model was used for analyzing the determinants of income inequality of the households in the research area. Results of the study revealed that the value of Gini-coefficient for villages Madinaabad, Shamshikhan, Ziarat and for the overall area were 0.22, 0.30, 0.34, and 0.31 while Palma ratio for villages Madinaabad, Shamshikhan, Ziarat, and for the overall area were 0.63, 0.88, 1.14 and 1.06, respectively. Results of binary logistic regression showed that the odds ratio of age, education and the number of dependents was 1.084, 0.862, and 0.306, respectively, which showed that income inequality increases with the increase of one year of age by 8.4 percent. In contrast, education and earners decrease income inequality in the research area. Based on research findings, providing quality education and proper use of land resources can reduce income inequality in the study area. Digital game based-learning (DGBL) is also coming to the fore, which as an educational strategy is gaining more and more support and recognition among global researchers, pedagogues and parents. With the survey we carried out at Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica (Slovakia), we tried to find out the opinions of students on the application of the DGBL strategy during their studies at university. We were interested in what students think about the application of the DGBL strategy in educational process and whether they are interested in learning how to create simple educational games. Since they are students of teacher-oriented programs, gaining the ability to create simple educational games without knowledge of programming languages will allow them to be independent from commercially available educational games during planning of educational process. These are often unaffordable for teachers, and they also do not cover all educational content thematically and objectively. 137 students of teacher- oriented programs participated in the survey using a questionnaire with 30 items based on a 5-point Likert scale with verbal anchors of 5 (Strongly Agree), 4 (Agree), 3 (Neither Agree nor Disagree), 2 (Disagree), and 1 (Strongly Disagree). The conducted survey forms the basis of a quantitative-qualitative study aimed at searching of possibilities of applying the DGBL strategy in the future teachers preparation from the point of view of their preparation for the profession. The main goal of the contribution is to present the findings of the conducted survey and to show other possibilities that the issue offers for pedagogical praxis at universities with teaching specialization. This contribution is a part of realization of the project “Creation of a web portal for methodological support of foreign language teaching in primary education” (KEGA 011UMB-4/2022) supported by the Cultural and Educational Grant Agency of the Ministry of Education, science, research and sport of the Slovak Republic.
