The ascertained rate of bark in woodchips from the dendromass of sweet chestnut branches is X K = 29 . 72 %. That fact is reflected their energetic characteristics , above all density, ash content and the heating value . T h e combustible matter of the dendro mass of sweet chestnut branches does not differ in its chemic al composition from the fuel wood of other hardwoods with an exception of nitrogen – endot hermic component of combustible matter . The nitrogen content in the fuel from the dendro mass of sweet chestnut branches is, with the value of N = 0 . 4 2 %, 2 . 62 - times higher than the usual nitrogen rate in the combust ible matter of the fuel from other broadleaved trees . The mean content of ash – the rest after combustion of the dendro mass of branch es , assessed according to ISO 1171: 2003 , is A d = 2 . 2 6 %. The mentioned value is 3 . 8 - times higher than the usual content of ash from the wood combustion of other broadleaved woody plants . The heating value of the dry branch wood with bark , Qn = 17 245 kJ · kg - 1 , is by 7 . 3 % lower than the heating value of hardwoods in dry state according to the norm EN 14 961 „ Solid biofuels – specifications and fuel classes“ .
