Slovensko Language Slovak Country Slovak Republic systematics 502 Annotation Abandoned and wastelands are the most expressive form of devastation of surface in the landscape.To their origin is contributing above all destructive action of man from times of Walachian colonization (deforestation, grazing, forest fire, unsuitable ploughing) and erosive processes but also modern industry (magnesite works, lime works, cement works, heaps etc.) – brownfields. The author focuses landscapeecological analysis of these lands in relation to some indicators. In the middle 20th century waste lands were occurred on area 220 000 ha, what is probably an unreal large area. Most of the lands was afforested. Mostly wastelands were occurred on the flysh rocks (27 %), but abundant are also on the carbonate rocks (17 %), on the volcanic rocks (12 %), furthermore on the loess and loess loam (16 % )and on the crystalline rocks (15 %) Public work category ADF No. of Archival Copy 15979 Catal.org.
