AnnotationThe concept of culture is difficult to define. This can be explained by the imprecision of its purpose and by the different uses of the concept of culture. However, we would like to show in our paper that it would be possible to find a global definition of the concept of culture which could involve all the social sciences. During the 20th century, the concept of culture became a subject of scientific studies which followed two main directions. The first one conceives culture as a characteristic of the singularity of human societies and in the same way as a characteristic of all humanity. The second one considers the culture as the only way for a human society to conceive the world. An overall meaning of the concept of culture therefore exists. But for how long? One of the effects of globalization is to question the validity of the concept of culture itself
