Language teaching promotes active learning through using collaborative approach, use of simulations, real life tasks and problem-based learning. It develops reading, writing and presentation skills necessary for life-long learning and career development. Moreover, language learning provides an opportunity to analyse different cultures and learn to appreciate and respond to different attitudes to work and life based on them. At the same time, language teachers can inspire and serve as a resource of innovative teaching methods to the subject-content teachers who have not been trained as teachers.
