In recent years, a number of universities in Slovakia have established Tourism programs and have started to teach it. Their approaches to the tourism research are different. The article is focused on the scientific and research projects, which are the starting point for exploring the future of tourism and the prerequisite for improving cooperation in science and research of Slovak Universities. It takes into account that tourism is the interdisciplinary phenomenon.
