Europeanisation and globalisation emphasise the need to increase quality and professionalism of higher education. Author of the scientific paper builds on empiric knowledge, questionnaire survey findings and on research of renowned authors dealing with this topic such as ELTON (1992), VÁŇOVÁ (1995), HAUSENBLAS (1997), ROY (2009) and many other world experts on higher education. Scientific discussion about results of research of mentioned authors and comparison of own findings through questionnaire survey led the author to controversy in this issue, to discussion about dependence or independence of school policy on education, about political decisions and about direction of educational institutions preparing future graduates of the teaching profession.
