Learning from the organization of complex ecosystems and their properties we are able to select a few crucial system principles of sustai-nability and explain their implications for the protected areas management. This is essential if we want to reverse current ecologically and socially destructive trends, which increase the life support systems disturbance and biosphere disintegration. The main and first goal is to stop the anthropogenic enthropisation of protected areas and instead increase their resilience.
