Interpreting theory, as an interdisciplinary subfield of translation studies, profits from numerous methodological permeations. This study calls attention to a special area of translation: the increasingly significant domain of "creative interpreting", especially in the form of song-signing, i.e. sign-language interpreting of music videos and concerts. However, the primary focus is the following ascertained parallels between interpreting and music: predispositions, purposeful training of skills, performing in front of an audience and performance quality. The terminological parallels between language/interpreting and music indicate the similarities between the processes themselves.
