AnnotationThe aim of this article is to examine the changes in the development of tourism in Slovak accommodation facilities in the post-crises period 2016 and compare it with the situation in 2008. We have analysed data from the European Commission, the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic and the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic. We have focused on the number of tourists in Slovak accommodation facilities, the number of overnight stays, the average length of stay, tourism support from the public sources and income from foreign tourists. The obtained data have been processed using the methods of descriptive statistics. The results showed, that tourism in Slovak accommodation facilities in 2016 increased as compared to 2008, but also unfavourable structural changes occurred.
