AnnotationThe aim of this paper is to analyze food security as a global security threat. Food security, according to several experts, will become one of the key areas that should be given more attention. Food insecurity in various regions of the world is linked mainly to the insufficient and failing distribution, as well as environmental aspects such as global warming, destruction of the environment, natural conditions of the country etc. The key role is also played by such factors as traditional threats such as war, terrorism, conflicts and failed states. Copenhagen school originally contributed to the analysis of the security from a sectoral perspective and allocated five basic security sectors. Developments of recent years have shown that it is necessary to expand these sectors, and one of the new sectors is a food security sector
