In particular it looks at two bio-inspired approaches which use image information and are thus suitable for low-power consumption systems in early object detection and obstacle avoidance. The first approach is based on the processing of optical flow gained from one-dimensional image through an easy-to-calculate algorithm. The other approach is evolutional and it uses an artificial neural network and genetic algorithm. The algorithm determines individuals of the population using its fitness function Public work category AFC No. of Archival Copy 7256 Catal.org.
