    AnnotationThe aim of the article is to present the results of the research based on the secondary sources to create a theoretical model of the prerequisites of creativity in the work of the manager, to examine the current state of support and development of creativity in selected enterprises and to propose the possibilities of its application in the practise of Slovak enterprises. The theoretical model of the assumptions of a creative manager which consists of 9 areas is proposed. The research wasw conducted in four companies where 17 managers and 65 employees were addressed. The greatest distance according to managers is in areas of job design and expertise, while according to the employees, they are interpersonal competences as well as management competencies and creative potential. Based on the results of the survey, managers should focus in particular on job design, interpersonal competence, work progress and potential exploration
