By comparing this new concept with the old (folklore-based) pattern and interpreting two significant examples of Feldek´s and válek´s poems for children, we intend to prove that poetry for children (beyond the limits of folklore-like and didactic writing, of course) may be imaginative and complex, challenging the young readers´fantasy in the same way as artistic poetry intended for adult readers, and that a young child is ready to cope with this challenge.
