The assessment of employees and their work performance is one of the core duties of managers who contribute to the prosperity or bankruptcy of the business with the results of their job. The aim of this paper is to define the process of manager’s assessment and to present the assessment system applied by the selected hotel company on the example of two chain hotels. The survey verifies the assumption that hotels have an established assessment system that relies to standards and indicators of managerial work. We investigated the managerial work effectiveness assessment of managers based on hotels economic indicators, staff appraisal and evaluation, guest satisfaction surveys and reviews on websites and social networks. The source of the information is contained in the annual accounts and annual reports of the company.
