AnnotationThis study presents the findings in the concepts of preschool children about the human digestive system. The research is based on qualitative approach with analysis of children's drawings and interviews and it includes a group of 18 five to six-year-old children. Through the significant findings comparing to older studies on the concepts of the digestive system, the authors discuss the changes in concepts of today's children. The aim of the study is also to identify the possibilities of working with children's concepts from the position of a preschool teacher and to provide basic suggestions for the application of appropriate didactic strategies for preschool teachers in kindergartens.
