It defines the different approaches to study of local development and describes the methodological framework developed by the Dutch anthropologist Norman Long – an actor-oriented approach. Within this methodological framework it describes theoretical and analytical categories as agency, life worlds and multiple realities. The overview study further uses the example of the concept of symbolic boundaries to points out how their constructs affects interactions and relationships between the actors.
