Descr. príspevky v zborníku - proceedings papers Language English Country Bulgaria Annotation Authors describe the collaborative learning strategies and basic procedures before and during the realization of the Good Behavior Game program in the second classes of primary school in Slovakia. The article was funded by the project VEGA No. 1/0223/16 The discipline management in the classroom at primary school. The research team, in the first stage, was studying teachers opinions on unwanted pupil behaviour. Following the partial project results, the second stage of the project was focused on the selection of an optimal model of classroom management. The Good Behavior Game was chosen within the search for an optimal model of discipline management in the classroom at the primary school. It was developed at the University of Ohio and modified by the authors for Slovak school system conditions. The goal of the game is to reduce distraction in class and aggression of pupils. Its essence lies in competing of standing groups in classroom behaviour, getting the rewards and privileges that pupils gain for desirable behaviour. The papers in all categories in this database were checked without a time limit being restricted to "critical thinking" and "primary education". There was retrieved 47 publications published between 1900 and 2018. The publications of the concerned topics start just in 2006. The average citations for an item is 0.74, and there are only 3 publications (6.3%) reaching higher citation index (1.0 to 1.6). 40 publications (85.1%) belong to educational research area. “Procedia Social and Behavioral Sciences” (22.5%) and “Inted Proceedings” (12.5%) are the most prolific journals in the “critical thinking in primary education” literature. The topic is being interesting the most to Kocak (7.5%), Ulas (7.5%), Goltsiou (5.0%) and Sofianopoulou (5.0%). The most important countries in the educational literature on the topic of “critical thinking in primary education” are Turkey (23.4%), Spain (14.9%) and Greece (10.6%). The number of publications on the topic of “critical thinking in primary education” in the educational literature being empirical researched is low (just 0.04% out of all publications on “critical thinking” topic). The critical thinking development needs to be emphasized from early childhood school period together with creative and caring thinking as stated by Lipman [7]. The study was conducted by Thompson and Barton´s [8] questionnaire aimed to assess the ecocentric approach in this group. The second tool used was a questionnaire of won provenience of the study author called Animal Respect Questionnaire (AniRe). The AniRe questionnaire is a unidimensional tool designed to assess the responders’ respect for animals. The research has shown a significant difference between ecocentric attitudes and respect for animals, thus confirming that there is an overlap (up to 38%) of the attitude to nature with the attitude towards natural entities – animals.
