    AnnotationGlobally, as a renewable source of energy, biofuel, wind, solar, and hydro energy have been increasingly valued by a range of businesses. There is no denying the advantages of using renewable energy in terms of preventing climate change and protecting the environment. Therefore, this article investigates the relationship among hydro, solar, biofuel, wind, coal consumption, and CO2 emissions in 19 G20 member countries between 2000 and 2019. The results of dynamic fixed effects and the system-generalized method of moments suggest that solar energy and biofuel usage have a negative and statistically significant influence on carbon emissions. On the other hand, the impact of wind energy consumption on carbon dioxide emissions is positive and statistically significant. However, hydro energy consumption is statistically insignificant. The significance of this study is to include wind energy, solar energy, and hydro energy as new indicators for a group of 19 G20 member countries. Furthermore, this research paper also includes coal consumption in the existing model to confirm that CO2 emissions may rise if more coal is consumed. Growing the solar-hydro-biofuel-wind industry can reduce nonrenewable energy consumption and has tremendous potential to diminish carbon dioxide emissions.

    AnnotationThe aim of this paper was to determine the particle size composition of wood dust emission from CNC milling of natural wood and medium-density fiberboard (MDF) and evaluate the associated occupational exposure risks. The paper is focused on some of the most commonly used materials in the woodworking and furniture industry, i.e., solid wood (beech, oak, and spruce) and composite materials (MDF panels). In addition to the influence of the machined material, the effect of the technical-technological parameters, namely, feed speed and depth of cut on the particle size distribution, was also investigated. The selected values of the technical-technological parameters used in this study followed the common work practice in small wood processing companies. The particle size distribution was evaluated by using sieve analysis of samples from the total mass of collected wood dust. The results demonstrated that machining of natural wood is characterized mostly by the formation of coarse dust fractions (2 mm–1 mm sieves), whilst the processing of MDF was associated with generation of fine dust fractions with a size below 100 m. The results obtained can be used for optimizing the technological programs of CNC milling machines, thus, reducing the occupational exposure to harmful wood dust emissions in the wood-processing industry.

    Annotationtomto príspevku sa zameriavame na znečisťovanie pracovného ovzdušia a vonkajšieho ovzdušia ultrajemnými a respirabilnými časticami pri výrobe drevených peliet o maximálnej spotrebe pilín na výrobu peliet 18,5 ton/deň. Navrhnutým predbežným modelom hodnotíme ako fugitívne a bodové emisie PM10 (a PM2,5, alebo TSP) môžu ovplyvniť čistotu ovzdušia v blízko stojacej obytnej budove (do 50 m). Predbežným modelom bola zistená teoreticky najvyššia hodnota hmotnostnej koncentrácie 38,1 μg.m-3 respirabilnej frakcie na atike najbližšej obytnej budovy (vo vzdialenosti 42 m od zdroja), pričom najväčším príspevkom sa na tom podieľajú fugitívne emisie 37,6 μg.m-3. Tieto hodnoty by sa dosiahli pri rýchlosti vetra 4 m.s-1 vo výške 10 m, prúdiacom v smere od zdroja presne k sledovanej obytnej budove. Požiadavky kvality ovzdušia sú splnené, napriek tomu obyvatelia majú pocit silne znečisteného ovzdušia. Následne bude predbežný model verifikovaný reálnymi meraniami, simuláciou a ďalej spresňovaný

    AnnotationThe synthesis and spectroscopic properties of a series of substituted 1,3-dimethyl-2-aminostyrylbenzimid-azolium iodides are described and discussed. The products were identified by NMR, IR and UV-Vis spectroscopy and elemental analysis. Their electronic absorption and fluorescence band positions are affected by the character of the substituent and by the solvent polarity. The fluorescence decay of the dyes shows two lifetimes interpreted in terms of emission from two forms of the dye in the excited state. Moreover, the photochemical trans> cis isomerization is reported for these compounds. It occurs from the first excited singlet state of the trans isomer to the cis isomer following a trans-S-0> S-1 excitation. The electron-donating character of the substituent in a styrene moiety is one of the crucial factors influencing the photoisomerization process. The structure of the cis isomer was established by H-1 and N-15 NMR. Experimental studies are supported by the results of quantum chemical calculations.
