Descr. abstrakty - abstracts Language English Country Hungary Annotation The mapping, research in archives and in the field within the territory of Smolník and nearby region resulted in the summary of the collections of ore samples (RYBÁR et al., 2017), the most important minerals and various types of artifacts formed the basis for the creation of mineralogical-deposit, alchemical as well as montanistic exposition in the attractive underground (catacombs) of Elizabeth’s house. The building currently belongs to the municipality of Smolník and the temporary operator (before handing over the expositions to the municipality) will be Geotour (Civic Association). In addition to the classic exhibits, the history of mining and the importance of Smolník will also be presented through modern audio-visualization technologies, 3D visualizations (Fig. 1) and holographic images (WEIS et al., 2016). The exhibition spaces and surroundings will also be used for the activities of educational projects, which will be aimed at schoolchildren and the young generation in general. Sú koncipované do dvoch nosných častí. Prvá sa zaoberá teoretickými aspektami muzeológie a muzealizáciou z hľadiska technických – montánnych pamiatok v kontexte s montanistickým múzejníctvo. Druhá časť prináša komplexný prehľad a charakteristiku slovenských banských múzeí a múzeí s montanistickými expozíciami. Textová časť je doplnená bohatým príkladovým obrazovým materiálom. Descr. články - journal articles Language English Country Netherlands Annotation The primary objective of this paper is to present opportunities for creating virtual 3D models of defunct historical buildings, reconstructed on the basis of archival and field research, and the effective promotion and visualisation of such models through a thematic web application. The secondary objective is to increase the tourism potential and attractiveness of the various historical sites and the studied region. The comprehensive methodical processing of documents and the creation of 3D models of objects and other digital visualisation requires not only high-quality programmers and graphic artists, but especially scientists who create historically-relevant descriptive texts, real schemes, and historically acceptable models that can be computer-processed, visualised, and used as an effective tool for the development of tourism. Research and follow-up activities require an interdisciplinary approach, i.e. the cooperation of experts from various disciplines. The research processed in this study points out that even simple, now widely available modern means of communication, such as websites, can be effectively used for the promotion and publicity of this type of attraction. High-quality 3D models and visualisations of buildings and specific destinations, or cultural and technical monuments, can thus become available to tourists also outside museums. This paper introduces the opportunities of digital presentation of preserved, partially defunct and, especially, completely defunct historical buildings and sites that are often almost unknown to tourists. In many cases, only their shells or foundations remain. In terms of cultural heritage conservation and monument protection, these sites are often among the most important religious buildings from various historical periods. This study focuses on the Middle Ages and locations in Slovakia (former Hungary), and presents a methodology that is generally applicable for the research and visualisation of any similar cultural sites, and thus opening up their potential to tourists. They are artificial water tanks that gather water and serve as energy source for mining machines´ drive. There were two water reservoirs in Rudno nad Hronom community. This article deals with a virtual reconstruction of one of them. Before the reconstruction in model software, there was a field survey of the territory. After the modelling, hydrological parameters have been calculated. Because of the precautions, the data has been obtained from Air Laser Scanning (available on geoportal.sk) and processed in Surfer programme instead of field measuring. From the obtained data, 3D model of current and original state of the water reservoir was created. The volume of the tank and time needed for filling the dike was calculated from those models. After calculating the volume, it was possible to determine the speed of filling the tank with rainfall. Results has shown that the maximum volume of the tank was 73 778 m³ and its fulfilment took 118 days. The highest state of water in the dike was 12 m with its 6 m width and 101 m length. At present day when we are forced to deal with extreme weather, periods of heavy rainfall and dry seasons, water reservoirs could serve as solution for detention of water. The fact that the reservoir was functional in the past means that it could be restored. As other water reservoirs it can serve for summer swimming and development of tourism which will lead to increase of income in the community.
