    Annotationhe aim of the study was to describe and interpret the results of the survey and, based on them, in the end to present the areas of games and game activities that will form one of the starting points for the creation of methodological material within the framework of the solution of the KEGA project no. 001UMB-4. The aim of the survey was to find out the opinions of parents and kindergarten teachers about the abilities of 2-year-old children in nine areas of personality development and to describe them statistically from the most to the least occurring in these children. The survey method was a questionnaire personally administered to 70 respondents who assessed the abilities of 35 two-year-old children. The findings show that some abilities are developed by more than 90% of the assessed children, while others occur in only a few of them. In most children, the expected abilities are present. If the respondents recognized the occurrence of certain abilities in children in more than 50%, games and play activities will be created for their development. We consider specific findings and their practical use to be the main contribution of the survey and of this study.

    AnnotationThis article is aimed at the teaching profession and describing partial outcomes of subjective perception of workload and satisfaction of educators. The research uses the measurement tools Assessment scale: Perception of the burden of work activities and Life satisfaction questionnaire. The paper is focused on four dimensions – the subjective perception of workload related to the teaching process, related to the extracurricular activities, satisfaction with the job and satisfaction with one's free time. The research sample consisted of 874 Slovak teachers (232 in kindergarten, 411 in elementary school, 219 in leadership position, 12 “other”). The workload is perceived as a slight burden in the teaching process (x̄ = 2.057), but also outside of it (x̄ = 2.040). In general, teachers are satisfied with their jobs (x̄ = 4.787) and impartial towards their personal free time (x̄ = 4.313). In some areas there was a significant difference between kindergarten and elementary educators in perception of difficulty. Elementary educators deem the workload as more distressing. A significant difference was also demonstrated between the perception of satisfaction with free time between kindergarten teachers, primary education teachers and teachers in management positions, with kindergarten teachers being more satisfied. Our findings point to the need to differentiate the actions of teachers at different levels of education, in their job positions, and to provide them with support for their work well-being and satisfaction.

    AnnotationProfessional beliefs is an important factor that influences activities that preschool teachers organize and manage in the classroom. In order to determine how strong these beliefs are, valid and reliable instruments must be at disposal. This research aimed to develop and validate DPBA, an instrument designed to measure teachers' beliefs toward the use of inquiry-based activities in preschool classes. A sample of 1,004 Czech preschool teachers was used to obtain the validation data. From the initial set of 40 items, a final version of DPBA with 22 items was created in a series of analyses. Principal component and maximum likelihood methods with Varimax rotation were used to extract an appropriate scale structure. DPBA is composed of three subscales, Benefits (12 items), Teacher competence (6 items) and Concerns (4 items), which have reliabilities of .906;.847 and .729, respectively.     AnnotationThe study focuses on the concepts of preschool children about the human digestive system. The author presents the analysis of a research implemented in a group of 18 five to six-year-old children. The study is based on qualitative research. It analyses children's drawings and interviews, during which children expressed their concepts regarding the digestive system. Importantly, the study identifies the possibilities of working with children's concepts from the position of a preschool teacher. In the conclusion of the study, the author interprets the results of the research and provides suggestions for the application of appropriate didactic strategies for preschool teachers in kindergartens.     AnnotationChildren who come to kindergarten already have different experiences with the world and ideas about it. They have already developed their own theories of diverse phenomena, and these built-in constructs, which have their own logic and meaning, are very strong. They also often differ significantly from relevant theories of the adult world. However, they are children's own interpretations of various phenomena and therefore they are valuable for them. The emergence of these theories depends on everything that happens around the child. People, things, culture, and basically everything with which the child comes into contact. Therefore, it is necessary to perceive these preconceptions as real, equivalent theories and to approach them equally. The present study focuses on monitoring the work of kindergarten teachers. The kindergarten is considered to be a place where a typical teacher-pupil model of education does not take place. This would create a space for the use of child preconceptions
