The focus is on the effect of unpaid work and its components on individual well-being. The paper uses data from a questionnaire survey conducted under the project VEGA No. 1/0935/13. The dominant part of our research is based upon the results of logit and probit regressions. The results suggest that in addition to the standard determinants of individual well-being identified in the literature such as health, gender and age, the scope and structure of unpaid work can be seen as another factor affecting the well-being of individuals in Slovakia. While some components of unpaid work have a positive impact on individual well-being, others have the opposite effect, which is an important finding for the development and implementation of effective policies, targeted at individuals and their well-being in society.
