Descr. články - journal articles Language English Country Poland Annotation The research focused on the issue of physics subject matter in higher education of primary education teachers. It explained students’ misconceptions on an example of the subject matter about a pulley. The aim of the research was to study on a sample of 79 students the effectiveness of the designed IBI in terms of elimination of misconceptions in favour of scientifically acceptable concepts. The main research methods were the pedagogical experiment and content analysis of students’ answers. Results showed that students’ misconceptions changed statistically significantly in the post-test against the pre-test in favour of scientifically acceptable concepts. Descr. články - journal articles Language English Country Poland Annotation The study presents theoretical starting points and research approach- es dedicated to the teaching profession in an international context. It provides interesting insights into the relationship between teachers’ workload and their life satisfaction. The research presented in this study is focused on primary and pre-primary teachers. The authors present the results of a theoretical survey of the current studies and identify the intents of the research objective. They plan to expand the research objective to include a comparison of cross-cultural data between teachers from Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic. The findings are intended to provide valuable knowledge and inspiration for improving the working conditions of teachers. In addition, they can contribute to the innova- tion of undergraduate teacher education and lifelong teacher education programs. The current international research is aimed to find out how teachers in the early stages of children’s education, i.e. teachers of primary and pre-primary education, manage the demands of their profession through the lens of their specific profes- sional activities. Subsequently, the obtained results are compared with the feeling of satisfaction in their life. The aim of this research is to provide an international comparison of teachers from Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic. Stredná Ázia Form. Descr. články - journal articles Language English Country Poland Annotation In 2021, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) turned 20 years old. With “Shanghai Spirit” as its guiding principle, the scope of SCO’s activity has significantly expanded, recently adding India and Pakistan to its members. As a result, SCO policy has heavily influenced the Central Asia region. In response, in 2019, the EU launched a new strategy for Central Asia, adopting “connectivity” as its core concept. As a result, both SCO and EU strategies in Central Asia tend to conflict with each other, thus leading to uneven and inconsistent development of the region. Therefore, this paper aims to identify contradictions between SCO’s “Shanghai Spirit” guiding principle and the EU’s concept of “connectivity” by comparing the SCO and EU strategies toward Central Asia. The methodology in the paper involves a qualitative comparative method, including two qualitative case studies, represented by the SCO’s “Shanghai Spirit” and the EU’s concept of “connectivity” in their strategies on Central Asia. The article concludes that contestation between the SCO and the EU policies in Central Asia impedes stable development of the region, and therefore, a compromise between both policies in Central Asia is suggested.
