Behind this procedure, there were two main questions a) to find out the trajectory of research on teachers during the last seven decades (diachronic view on research on teachers); and b) to reveal the present trends and focus of research on teachers under the influence of the current societal context across several countries of the world (synchronic view on research on teachers). As moral values are considered to be among the main factors that determine and regulate human behaviour, one of the main solutions from the side of governments in the current societal moral crisis is to emphasize the improvement of moral education, predominantly as an effort to promote critical thinking and positive values in human relationships. Researching and describing the process of constructing moral knowledge, moral judgments and the personalization of moral values may significantly affect the way students perceive their surroundings, real events as well as assist with the students' verbal expressions of their own hierarchy of values.
