AnnotationPost-pandemic situation leads training institutions to modify their training environments to develop the key generic competences determined by rise of smart machines and systems and new communication tools requiring new media literacies (Future Work Skills, 2020). Future helping professionals, such as psychologists, need also to train their psychological competences and skills via new online modern training centers within universities. The study aims at counselling training skill development of future psychologists as more people are searching for counselling also via its online form (Liu, & Gao, 2021). The study aim was to analyze and compare the level and experiences of counselling skill based training via „SenSkype“ project (Seniors are skyping) and traditional counselling training done in counselling centers conducted as a part of compulsory training course for future psychologists within their master degree at Matej Bel University, Slovakia. The study has a mixed model research design. The students of psychology (N=9, females 77,8%, Mage=25,3) took part in SenSkype project, and also were involved in a tradition psychological training in a psychological institution providing also counselling services. The competencies development before and after SenSkype project participation was analyzed by Helping professional´s communication and interaction competence questionnaire by Mlcak (2005) in comparison with the participant´s experiences in the SenSkype training project obtained by semi-structured interviews. The study results bring the conclusion the students can acquire the same quality of psychological competences via SenSkype project, though a significant change was obtained in self-awareness level. The qualitative analyses of SenSkype project disclosed a category of positive emotions (based on their new experiences and knowledge, their expectations, self-fulfillment and personal enrichment), neutral emotions (of a great time demand), and also negative emotions (from uncertainty, fear, and worries, missing of personal contact). The study creates a potential for face-to-face versus online psychological skills training verification of the helping professionals. As future professionals in various study fields, including social sciences, will need more sophisticated skills to use new media to work, consult, facilitate and possibly also treat their clients.

AnnotationDistance learning during the global pandemic brought new challenges in the field of forms and methods of education. Digital game based-learning (DGBL) is also coming to the fore, which as an educational strategy is gaining more and more support and recognition among global researchers, pedagogues and parents. With the survey we carried out at Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica (Slovakia), we tried to find out the opinions of students on the application of the DGBL strategy during their studies at university. We were interested in what students think about the application of the DGBL strategy in educational process and whether they are interested in learning how to create simple educational games. Since they are students of teacher-oriented programs, gaining the ability to create simple educational games without knowledge of programming languages will allow them to be independent from commercially available educational games during planning of educational process. These are often unaffordable for teachers, and they also do not cover all educational content thematically and objectively. 137 students of teacher- oriented programs participated in the survey using a questionnaire with 30 items based on a 5-point Likert scale with verbal anchors of 5 (Strongly Agree), 4 (Agree), 3 (Neither Agree nor Disagree), 2 (Disagree), and 1 (Strongly Disagree). The conducted survey forms the basis of a quantitative-qualitative study aimed at searching of possibilities of applying the DGBL strategy in the future teachers preparation from the point of view of their preparation for the profession. The main goal of the contribution is to present the findings of the conducted survey and to show other possibilities that the issue offers for pedagogical praxis at universities with teaching specialization. This contribution is a part of realization of the project “Creation of a web portal for methodological support of foreign language teaching in primary education” (KEGA 011UMB-4/2022) supported by the Cultural and Educational Grant Agency of the Ministry of Education, science, research and sport of the Slovak Republic.

AnnotationReception theory deals with the reception of literary text itself as well as its effect on a potential reader. On one hand, the reception aesthetics examines how readers in different historical situations react to a literary text, and thus deals with real readers whose reactions point to a certain historically conditioned literary experience. On the other hand, Wolfgang Iser's Theory of the Aesthetic Response observes the impact of a literary text on its implied reader and how it provokes a reaction. The aim of this study is to emphasize (in some moments) the variously used and applied theoretical and philosophical starting points in Wolfgang Iser's reception aesthetics and the reception theory of Hans-Robert Jauß.

AnnotationSearching for the optimal saving strategy is often limited to life-cycle strategies, where only the age of a saver is considered for setting the allocation profile between equities and bonds. Our article contributes to the debate by looking at the performance and adequacy risks arising from applying age-based saving strategies for savers in funded pension schemes. Using the resampling simulation technique, we compare the fixed and age-based strategies from the point of performance, maximum draw-down occurring during the saving horizon and adequacy risk arising from applied saving strategy. We conclude that age-based life-cycle saving strategies, where the remaining saving horizon is the only factor defining the allocation profile is not the optimal saving strategy and other factor should be considered as well when searching for optimal predefined saving strategy.

AnnotationSearching for the optimal saving strategy is often tied with the life-cycle strategies where only the age of a saver is considered for setting the allocation profile between equities and bonds. Our article contributes to the debate by looking at the performance and adequacy risks arising from applying age-based saving strategies for savers in funded pension schemes. As many studies have proven the shift of the risk onto savers in defined contribution pension schemes under various saving strategies, we contribute to the debate by providing simulations of expected accumulated savings via funded pension scheme under the various life-cycle income profiles and existence of unemployment risk. Using the resampling simulation technique, we compare the fixed and age-based strategies of three different agents with various life-cycle income paths and different unemployment risk. We compare the expected amount of savings and calculate relative indicators comparing the expected monthly benefits, income replacement rate. We look closely on the impact of unemployment on the value of savings and calculate the unemployment factor explaining the value of savings lost due to the periods of unemployment. By combining life-cycle income functions of individuals with different education level and unemployment risk, we show that decisions of implementing low risk saving strategies are suboptimal and lead to a substantial decrease in replacement ratios not only for higher income cohorts but especially for the lowest ones. At the same time, we prove that employing low risk saving strategy leads to the increase of adequacy risk especially driven by the unemployment risk that is higher for lower education individuals. We conclude that age-based life-cycle saving strategies, where the remaining saving horizon is the only factor defining the allocation profile is not the optimal saving strategy and other factors should be considered as well when searching for optimal saving strategy
